Our Activities:

Membership
Serving our members is an essential part of our work. The Royal Institute's international membership includes a multidisciplinary cross-section of health professionals and hygiene specialists whose work involves the protection and improvement of public health. Members' benefits include a members' journal, numerous networking opportunities to keep them informed on current public health issues and the use of designatory letters. Corporate membership of the Royal Institute is available for companies that can demonstrate a commitment to public health.

Publications
Publications are a core part of our service. Our two journals Public Health and Health & Hygiene have an international readership and form an important part of our strategy to raise awareness of public health issues.

We publish a wide range of training materials including student handbooks, tutor guides, training standards and syllabuses.

Qualifications
As an accredited awarding body the Royal Institute provides a portfolio of qualifications which are directly relevant to the workplace. These include food hygiene and safety (including HACCP), nutrition, mortuary hygiene and salon hygiene.
Certification
The Royal Institute's certification programme dates back to 1904. Manufacturers submit their hygiene-related products and training packs for independent testing and assessment under this service. Products which conform to the manufacturers' claims and have been proved to have hygienic merit will receive the Certificate of Hygienic Quality and Merit.

Courses and Symposia
Our wide ranging programme of conferences, courses and symposia helps to bring important public health topics into the spotlight and provide delegates with essential professional updating, platforms for debate and networking opportunities.
